Governor Brown has taken a lot of flack from conservatives for her handling of Covid-19. However, the stats don’t lie. Hawaii and Puerto Rico shouldn’t really be in the comparison under the link since they are islands and can more easily contain things, but basically Oregon did a better job than every other state except Vermont. Had she done what many other states did, more Oregonians would have contracted the virus (and died or had long-lasting ill effects).

2021 Southern Oregon University Softball Team

All three of the Cascade Conference softball teams that made the opening round are headed to Georgia for the NAIA College Softball World Series next week. Massey Ratings had all three teams in the top 20, with SOU and OIT in the top four. The coaches had OIT way down at #17. Massey did not have the coaches’ #2 and #3 in the top five. Perhaps not surprisingly, they are not headed to Georgia.

I’ll post more commentary on Massey and the Softball World Series once the site has been updated for the opening round games.

Since taking the above photo, just yesterday, SOU beat Hope, Morningside was eliminated by Hope, and Saint Katherine was eliminated by Morningside. SOU has two chances to beat Hope once for a trip to Georgia.
