According to the Munich Cowboys’ Facebook page, Ryan Retzlaff has been signed to play for them. The German Football League (GFL) allows up to six non-EU players per team, but only two can be on the field at any single point in time. This is somewhat similar to how Japan and Korea restrict the number of foreign players on their professional baseball rosters.

With only one loss in this venue since 2012, the Bulldogs wish they were playing here today. Gonzaga faces Duke this afternoon in Houston.

We’ve been in Spokane (and the area) for almost a week. After Ellie’s volleyball tournament ends this afternoon we make the long journey back to Ashland, hopefully arriving before my class tomorrow.

The Wood House, in Eagle Point, Oregon, turns 145 years old this year. I have never been inside. In fact, until a recent trip to hike near Crater Lake, I had never stopped even though it is right on the road. I paused for this photo because 1) I was by myself in the car for once and 2) the fog made the setting look extra good.
