Alex Bytnar of BlackQueen @ Musichead 10/18/13
Musichead in Medford has a show on October 18, 2013. First band will probably go on at about 6:30. I haven’t seen Spellcaster in more than a year and a half so I hope I can make it.
Due to a number of factors (Title IX, SOU having football and wrestling, limited budget, etc.) SOU has a Women’s Soccer Team but no Men’s Soccer Team (or baseball). However, there are various club sports like lacrosse, rugby, and men’s soccer.
I witnessed my first SOU Men’s Soccer Club game this past Sunday at U.S. Cellular field in Medford. Southern Oregon University beat Western Oregon University (Monmouth) 4-0. The third goal went like this…

Hell’s Belles @ McDonald Theatre in Eugene, Oregon
Hell’s Belles is playing at the Rogue Theatre in Grants Pass on Saturday, November 2, 2013. To make this night even better, 100 Watt Mind is opening.
100 Watt Mind was excellent, as always, in Grants Pass this past Saturday night. However, I’m a bit pissed off at them now. I bought one of their new CDs (Out of Night) at the show. Upon opening it up I found a bunch of my photos being used without permission or attribution.
I could put a big, ugly watermark on all of my photos like many photographers do. Or I could just not share my photos unless people pay me for them like a lot of photographers do. Instead, I have a very simple copyright policy which can be reached by clicking on the word copyright on every page of the blog.
Use my photos all you want for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution. You don’t even need to ask. If you want to use a photo for commercial purposes (like 100 Watt Mind did), ask. I would have said yes, and I would have charged them $0. Everyone would have been happy. Instead, I’m just a little pissed. If I didn’t otherwise like them, I’d be really pissed.
Would a musician want their work to be taken and used by someone else without permission or attribution? I don’t think so. Why do some musicians think that it is OK to do such a thing to a photographer?
The Oakland A’s are just 11 wins from one of the most improbable championships in the history of the game.

Z Musikmakers @ 6th Annual Oktoberfest in Jacksonville, Oregon

Jacksonville Oregon’s Oktoberfest beer stein
Today is day three of three for Jacksonville’s annual Oktoberfest. I went yesterday for the first time ever. I met up with my BFF from 6th grade. We hadn’t seen each other in over 27 years. Good times.
