Brandi Carlile (8/21/13)
Brandi has now played Britt six times. I think I have been at five of those shows, missing the other because I was in Japan at the time. The last couple times I took a photo of her indicating how many times she had been there. Now that she has been there more than five times it takes two hands to hold up that many fingers, and she usually has a guitar to hold. So I don’t have a photo of her holding up six fingers because she never did on this evening.

Lisa Elledge of the 2013 SOU Women’s Soccer Team
The student athletes are all back on campus now even though Southern Oregon University doesn’t begin fall term for more than a month. Unlike regular classes, the sports seasons begin before the end of September. Yesterday was the first game for the soccer team. They easily beat Holy Names University in Ashland 7-0.

Ashland, Oregon (Winter 2013)
With temperatures hitting 90 degrees or more on most days during August, it’s nice to look back to what things looked like back in January every once in a while.

Sunset at Lake of the Woods
My first day back from Korea was spent at nearby Lake of the Woods. I was groggy all morning, but by evening I felt pretty good. The view didn’t hurt.

Adam Rosales drops a pop up
My A’s have been struggling lately. They recently released Adam Rosales, pictured above missing a usual out earlier this year. The Texas Rangers then picked him up but he didn’t actually play for them before they cut him. The A’s then signed him again only to release him again. Believe it or not, the Rangers then claimed him again! The poor guy seems to be in limbo. I always liked his hustle.
