Photomerge from Mt. Ashland
Today’s pic is from this past weekend when I did some snowshoeing on Mt. Ashland. I took 7 vertical photos and put them together to come up with this one horizontal one. Doing such makes Mt. Shasta (to the left of center between the trees) and the rocks on my right look much smaller than they actually looked at the time. I’ll post individual photos of what Shasta and the rocks really looked like in a later entry.

Eric Thompson of the SOU Men’s Basketball Team
The Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball Team hasn’t had as many wins as this year in 65 years. If they win tonight, they will have their most wins ever in a season. A victory won’t be easy, though, as they are playing on the road against a higher-ranked team who has won eight straight games. Jeff Bush won player of the week honors last week in helping the Raiders upset Eastern Oregon University on the road.
Regardless of tonight’s results, the Raiders will be in the NAIA Division II National Tournament which begins next week in Branson, Missouri.

Kyle Tedder hits one of his five, 3-point shots to lead the Raiders to victory
The SOU Raiders Men’s Basketball Team is heading to Eastern Oregon for a semi-final playoff game in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament this Saturday night. They should take me along as their record when I’m at their games is 9 – 0. Without me they are 14 – 8. Alas, I will be in Ashland this Saturday night.
Kyle Tedder has had an amazing season for the Raiders, leading the team in scoring and hitting over 45% of his three pointers on over 200 attempts. By comparison, only two guys in the NBA have higher percentages with this many attempts.
The final score last night was 100-88 over Portland’s Concordia University, but the game was closer than that until the final minute or two when Concordia had to go into foul mode.

One week from tonight metal returns to Ashland. Club 66 will be hosting Sarcalogos, Witch Cult, and Infernal Throne. This venue saw some great metal acts when it was Stillwater, including YOB, 3 Inches of Blood, Giant Squid, and Toxic Holocaust.
Next month, Witchaven and Exmortus (3/20/13) will be playing at Club 66.
