Last week we were treated to a spectacular morning view. I headed out to the lower level of our roof to get this photo. I wanted to head up to the upper level for a better panorama of the sunrise with the fog filling the valley below, but the roof was covered in ice. I couldn’t move without falling so I had to settle for this.

Today’s photo is from this morning. The whole town was in shadow, but Grizzly Peak was glowing.

Ashland Hills Hotel

I spent this past Thursday at Ashland Hills Hotel. The prior time was on September 11, 2001, but that’s another story.
Anyway, I never knew of the tennis court on the property, a court with perhaps the best view of Grizzly Peak in town. I would have a hard time focusing on hitting the ball in such an environment.

The Southern Oregon men are in the lead after day one. SOU’s Amelia Maguin is the favorite in both of her meets today (after winning both of her Friday individual contests). Field events start at 10 a.m. Races on the track begin at 2 p.m. Come on down to Raider Stadium. The temperature in the stands is perfect.
