A week ago we arrived in Varenna, Italy for three nights on Lake Como. We had an awesome room (view here) that you can see in this photo as the second red building over from the left. Today’s photo is the reverse angle from the ferry boat on our way back from Bellagio.

Today we are leaving Mürren and heading to Lucerne (Luzern) for our last day in Europe. I’ve been here for over six weeks. Hopefully Ashland‘s smoke won’t be so bad by the time we return.
Today’s photo comes from Birg, a short gondola cableway from Mürren, at 8,783 feet in the Swiss Alps.
We are currently in Italy, Northern Italy (Lake Como, Varenna) to be more specific. Today’s photo comes from my daughter‘s visit a few weeks back in Copenhagen. I miss the place already. Will my Denmark adventures happen again next year? I hope so.
I have several dozen photos to process from the trip, but here was the view from Lions Locker (an overrated breakfast joint). Our favorite breakfast was at Ladó Café. Get the crepes (pancakes according to the menu) with homemade jam, and enjoy, perhaps, the best breakfast you’ve ever had.
P.S. Lions Locker recommended their own crepes. Perhaps they are just as good. We opted for something else given that we had just had crepes the morning before.

This night, at 2018 Roskilde Festival, was one of the best of my life. I love Dark Tranquillity (who I have now seen in three different countries!). They were fabulous, as was Clutch before them and Nine Inch Nails after them.
I met a guy during their set who said something about knowing the band, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, during NIN the same guy appeared with Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity to introduce him to me. I probably said a bunch of stupid stuff at this point (it being long after midnight). After every song I turned around to see Mikael still standing there with a smile on his face during the NIN set. I may have hugged him a dozen times and told him that I loved him. Nobody really knows what happened at this point. It was a lovely evening.
