Today’s photo is of Skatteministeriet from Christiansborg Slot. Skatteministeriet is a government building in Copenhagen. More specifically, it’s the home of the Danish Ministry of Taxation.

Tax day is usually April 15 in the USA, but this year, because April 15 was a Sunday, the deadline is extended until today. I did more tax returns this year than I’ve done any year since the 1990s. What’s wrong with me?

Back to today’s photo… Getting to the top of the tower in Christiansborg is easy (mostly elevator) and free! It may be the best free view in Copenhagen.

Located near the graves of Niels Bohr and Hans Christian Andersen in Assistens Kirkegård, Mikkeller’s Ramen to Bíiru is one of several ramen choices in Copenhagen these days. I prefer Papa Ramen and Slurp Ramen Joint, but if you want something spicier or want to try them all, check out らーめんとビール when you are in the neighborhood of one of their two shops (Norrebro or Vesterbro).

In other news, I have my place lined up for this summer. I like to stay in a different place each year. This year I’m back in the center of Copenhagen, in a place between Rosenborg Castle and the Marble Church.

2018 will be my fifth summer in Copenhagen. In 2017 I didn’t get to Nyhavn nearly enough. Mostly that was because the place where I was staying (near Valby Station) was a good 20 minutes by bike. For 2018 I want to find a place between Nyhavn and Vesterbro. In 2011 a colleague stayed in a place overlooking Nyhavn. Now that would be awesome.
