Maybe it’s not too rare to see two countries in one photo, but these two don’t even share a border.

Denmark is in the foreground, the island Saltholm is in the middle of the Øresund, and Sweden (with Malmö’s distinctive Turning Torso) is in the distance.

Today’s photo is of Skatteministeriet from Christiansborg Slot. Skatteministeriet is a government building in Copenhagen. More specifically, it’s the home of the Danish Ministry of Taxation.

Tax day is usually April 15 in the USA, but this year, because April 15 was a Sunday, the deadline is extended until today. I did more tax returns this year than I’ve done any year since the 1990s. What’s wrong with me?

Back to today’s photo… Getting to the top of the tower in Christiansborg is easy (mostly elevator) and free! It may be the best free view in Copenhagen.
