MetalDays 2020

MetalDays 2020 Lineup

I enjoy experiencing at least one new country every year. Last year it was Estonia and Russia. The year before it was Hungary and Switzerland. This year, if all goes well, I will visit Poland and Slovenia for the first time.

My Slovenian plans are centered on MetalDays, and the festival has just announced five more bands (Devin Townsend, Green Carnation, Oceans of Slumber, Cypecore, and MØL)–all of which I’m excited to see for the first time. I’ve been a Devin Townsend fan for a long time, but I’ve never seen him live before. This summer, again if things go as planned, I’ll see him at least twice. Green Carnation became my obsession about 18 years ago when I listened to the 60 minute “Light of Day, Day of Darkness” many, many times. I’m guessing they don’t play that one live. 🙁 I was gearing up to see Oceans of Slumber last summer at Brutal Assault, but they played at the same time as Demolition Hammer so that didn’t happen. Cypecore I’m not familiar with. And, even though they are a Danish band, MØL never seems to be playing when I’m in Denmark.

Bloodbath to 2020 Brutal Assault

12 more bands were just announced for next year’s Brutal Assault Festival. I’ve always wanted to see Devin Townsend so this will be a first timer. Uada, Bloodbath, Sacred Reich, Soen, Mayhem, and Venom are welcome additions.
