Ceremonial Hall interior @ University of Copenhagen

1853 Ceremonial Hall @ University of Copenhagen

Built in 1853, I was lucky enough to get views from every angle of the classic Ceremonial Hall on the campus of the University of Copenhagen this past summer. In the summer of 2018 I plan to experience my fifth summer in Denmark.

As mentioned previously, the private tour of the campus of the University of Copenhagen was rather special.

The building pictured today was the home of the Zoological Museum from 1870 until 1967. Since then it has been an administration building for the university. If you look closely you can see some of the sculptures that have been part of the architecture for 150 years.

I’ll post more photos of this beautiful place (especially since the public is no longer allowed to enter) soon. Here is what it looked like in 1868 before opening.

Yesterday was my last day teaching in Copenhagen for this summer. It’s always a sad day when I finish up in the summer in Denmark. The students at Copenhagen Business School are excellent (ranking in the top five in Europe and top 15 worldwide).

That said, the people of Denmark are what make my experience here so special. I have met so many wonderful people, this year in particular, at festivals and on other occasions. A new friend, who I met at the Roskilde Festival, gave me a private tour of the University of Copenhagen (on the campus near the Church of Our Lady in Central Copenhagen) yesterday. Previously, you could wander the campus as a regular tourist. However, due to thefts they have now locked most of the passages.

I had a wonderful four days in Sweden. My plane back to Copenhagen was delayed, and I didn’t arrive at my apartment until about 2 a.m. this morning. Today I’m back to work. No more festivals for me in Europe, but I will see Marillion in Berlin this coming weekend (Nervosa, too, on a different night).

I have almost 2,000 photos to go through. These are the first two I pulled up.
