Although Japan’s temples and shrines can sit rather quietly during the winter, tomorrow is Setsubun so if you are in Japan February 3 is a good day to give your local shrine or temple a visit to see if they have something going on.

As previously mentioned, I was given the Kaede room when I checked in at Fudoin. After the temple priest instructed me on where everything was in the room, how to use the remote controls, and when dinner would be served he departed. I rested a moment before getting up to slide the shoji (障子) open and enjoy my view.
Next week I will show you 180 degrees of view once I stuck my head out through the window.
