Oregon Duck Mascot “Puddles”
One of the more popular blog entries on this site is the one of the Oregon Duck Cheerleaders. I wonder why? In any event, the only timeless cheerleader for the Ducks is this one. Game time is almost upon us so I better post this and then find a TV.

In 2013 I’ll be watching most of my baseball games in Gwangju Mudeung Baseball Stadium, home of the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO or 한국 야구 위원회).
During the past 24 hours I have made plans for two excursions during next year. The first is during spring break (late March). We are going to Yosemite. I’m guessing Yosemite will look more like winter than spring at that time of year. It has been about 15 years since I’ve been to Yosemite so I’m really looking forward to our few nights at Tenaya Lodge.
This summer I’m going to be teaching in South Korea at Chonnam National University in the city of Gwangju. I’m excited about this adventure as well.

In less than two months Spring Training 2013 will begin. Brandon McCarthy will be pitching for a new team (the Arizona Diamondbacks). After a poor showing in 2012 (.204, 1 HR, 6 RBIs), Daric Barton (pictured above playing first base) will be back with the A’s and will be hoping for something better than his 2010 season (.273, 10 HRs, 57 RBIs) instead of another 2012.
