Today’s photo (a 12-photo photomerge actually) is from our New Year’s Eve hike down Bright Angel Trail after snow fell during the night. We didn’t go all the way down, not even close. But this was a spectacular trail even with limited visibility, and the trail probably wasn’t as crowded as it is much of the time.
We just got back from two nights at our friends’ ranch. We were planning on staying three nights, but winter storm warnings for tomorrow caused us to leave a day early.
I got up before the sun this morning to take some photos. The temperature outside was a balmy 15 degrees Fahrenheit. The ponds on the property were all frozen over. The kids went ice skating later in the day.
The white dot under the moon in this photo is Jupiter. The sun made its appearance about 15 minutes later.
