Following in the traditions of generations of mothers and grandmothers, the SOU Women’s Rugby team put on their finest prom dresses and headed out to the rugby pitch this past Saturday afternoon. It was supposed to be a friendly game, but the sounds coming from the field and the hits being applied seemed far from civil.
Next week I will be in New York, so while I’m gone I think I will pre-blog a week’s worth of photos from the prom dress rugby event to keep you entertained in my absence.
I said I wasn’t going to AHS’s graduation ceremony, but I ended up taking my daughter to Lithia Park for the last few minutes after all.
Today’s photo is of the Ashland High School gym with the sun coming up from behind. I posted a pic of the high school today because tonight (6:15 start time) is the graduation ceremony in Lithia Park. I won’t be attending tonight’s ceremony, but I will be at two of the next four graduations as my kids will be walking with the classes of 2014 and 2016.
Next up after Brynna Dean at the Tap House on Monday evening was Dirty Kid Discount, a three-piece on this evening that sometimes has as many as six members.
Last night Ellie played in the first regular season softball game in Phoenix. It rained pretty good just prior to the game (and then again after), but the softball gods parted the clouds somewhat during the game.
Last night at Caldera Tap House in Ashland there were a few acts playing. The first was Brynna Dean of 100 Watt Mind singing and playing her Gibson SG Guitar. (Ryan recently purchased an SG.)
Ellie started playing softball again for the first time in four years. Yesterday they had their first scrimmage, and next week they have their first real game and tournament.
