Well, not this much, but today is supposed to be the last day to hit 80 degrees for at least the next 10 days. Maybe we won’t see 80 again this year?
In other news, there is a chance of snow at SOU’s football game this Saturday in Dillon, Montana.
Today’s photo comes from May of this year. Snow in May? Not in the valley but Hobart frequently gets snow in April and sometimes in May.
With temperatures expected to reach the 90s by the end of the weekend, it’s a little hard to believe that today’s photo is from less than two weeks ago. Such is springtime in Ashland.
Last week was a wild week of weather in Ashland. It felt like summer early in the week, followed by one of the best rainbow/thunder/lightning storms I’ve ever encountered, and then Friday night it snowed in the mountains. We headed up to Hobart Bluff yesterday. We had to forge our own trail as no one else ventured out to Hobart on Saturday. With the wind-chill factor it was about 10-15 degrees when I took this photo. Only five more weeks until summer!
April is Grizzly Peak‘s best month. Not only is green, but sometimes it has some snow on top. Today’s photo featured some nice lighting just before the sun went down on Friday.

Today’s photo is from the archives, a bit over three years ago to be more specific. I haven’t recently looked at this direction sign closely, but I’m guessing the arrow pointing to Cascade Dining is gone as it hasn’t existed for almost two years. Soon the McNeal Pavilion will be coming down as well.
