The Whittier Tunnel is only open in one direction for about 20 minutes each hour. If your timing is such that you’ll be waiting a while, you may want to take an excursion to see nearby Byron Glacier instead of just waiting in your car.

Steller Sea Lions in the Kenai Fjords (Alaska – July 2023)

From the barking sea lions to the calls of the seagulls, with the gentle background noise of the boat’s engine in low gear, I can hear this scene almost as clearly as the day when I took the photo.
