One of the lovely things about going to live shows in Denmark (especially the Roskilde Festival) is you can stand up front without being crushed. In addition, you can obtain water to stay hydrated without losing your spot.

Megadeth took home their first Grammy Award this past weekend for Dystopia. Dystopia is probably my fourth favorite Megadeth album (after #1 Rust in Peace, #2 Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, and #3 So Far, So Good… So What).
When I took today’s photo, Dave was playing one of my favorites off “Rust In Peace” (Hangar 18) at 2016 Copenhell. Here is a video someone else a few rows back of my position took of the song. The scene in the photo happened for just a split second during the last few seconds of the video.
Copenhagen living
Today’s photo is of the neighborhood just to the north of my place in Copenhagen last summer. I found the streets to be quite charming. At dinner time children could be seen playing in the streets while parents drank in the sun at picnic tables in their front yards.
Upon doing a little research I found out that the area (also called Farimagsgade) was built in the 19th Century. All of the houses are fewer stories than what you find closer to the city center. It was thought that no one would want to live so “far” from work in central Copenhagen when these were first built. Now, with Copenhagen’s biking system, these are some of the closest residences to central Copenhagen in which owners don’t have to walk up dozens of stairs and have other people living above and/or below them.
Originally, two or three families lived in each house. Now, only single families live in each unit. I’m guessing the prices are very high, and the cars parked out front attested to the wealth of the residents.
Black Sabbath @ 2016 Copenhell

Today is the day. Black Sabbath is calling it quits. After 48 years and thousands of shows, tonight, in Birmingham, England–where it all began–is where it will all end. I was fortunate to have seen Ozzy solo twice (once in the 80s and once in the 90s), Dio solo in the 1980s, and Black Sabbath three times (90s, 00s, and on The End Tour last summer in Denmark).

My summer just got better. There were a few ramen places in Copenhagen last summer. “Ramen to Biiru” is just OK. The other one I went to (don’t remember the name) was closed for the summer. I’m really looking forward to trying Slurp Ramen Joint in a few months. This place is right next to where I lived last summer. Unfortunately, it will be a 20-minute bike ride from where I will be living this summer.
I’ve been a big fan of Brian’s blogs and videos for almost 10 years now. My wife and daughter ran into him at The Bone about eight years ago.
