Ultra-wide photo vs. photomerged panorama (part 2)

Several years ago I posted a comparison of a single, ultra-wide photo of Dodger Stadium with a photomerge of several photos of the same scene. Today’s post revisits that discussion on a full-frame DSLR. Above is a 7-photo photomerge (shot vertically at 16mm). Below is the ultra-wide shot at 14mm.

Big price drop on Nikon D750

The camera I use, with my favorite lens, has just been seriously reduced in price. I don’t know if this is temporary or not, but you can now pick up a Nikon D750 FX-format DSLR camera w/ 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S Nikkor lens for $903 less than it would have cost you yesterday.

Mexico likes me

When I posted this photo in Instagram a week ago 15 of my friends, relatives, and followers liked it. When Guanajuato posted it 16 hours ago 1,342 people liked it. That kind of makes me feel like I should give up on my friends, relatives, and followers and move to Mexico.

Sadly, my trip to Guanajuato, Mexico last summer was likely my last as the program I taught in appears to be going away.

Today’s photo is of the intersection where streets “28 de Septiembre”, “Galarza” (to the right), and “Positos” intersect. The hotel on the left has a sign over it (not pictured) which says “Paradon De La Galarza Hotel Diego Rivera”. Head straight down the left fork (Positos) to get to the Museo Diego Rivera.

Lake Coeur d’Alene

Lake Coeur d’Alene (Idaho)

We stayed just a few blocks from this lake last week for spring break. The weather wasn’t usually good, but we did get nearly a day of blue sky and a few other moments of blue to go along with the more common clouds and rain.
