I was supposed to see Mercyful Fate a couple of times (at least) last summer. As my summer trip to Europe didn’t work out, tonight will be the first time I’ve seen Mercyful Fate live (although I saw King Diamond in 1987 and 2016). Tonight’s setlist will be much better, IMO, than either of those two shows as most of the songs will be from Melissa and Don’t Break The Oath.

Goat Rocks Fire from Stevens Canyon Road (September 16, 2022)

As mentioned previously, the Goat Rocks Fire nearly ruined our long-planned trip to Mount Rainier. The fire began a few days before we arrived, and the poor air quality peaked on the day of our arrival. Luckily, it got much better each day we were there. By the time I took today’s photo, five days later, the smoke was only visible when directly looking at the affected area.

1975 Topps Baseball Cards sorted by color

My team didn’t make it. Nor did I really even follow major league baseball this year. I watched two A’s games during the entire season–one on TV and one in person. They won both in dramatic fashion. I went to one other game (in Minnesota) to watch the Giants lose so basically I went 3-0 this year.

The above photo is not mine. I saw it on Twitter a while back and thought it was lovely. The ’75 set is my favorite.
