Something green for you on this St. Patrick’s Day. We were supposed to see lots of green on the day we did the above hike. Unfortunately, we were in the clouds the entire time–sometimes having difficulty seeing more than just a few feet in front of us.
One of the mind boggling things about the views from this trail is that even after driving thousands of feet up the mountain and hiking a trail with over 1,700 feet of elevation gain, one still finds that they are more than 7,000 feet from the top!
I believe the waterfall in this photo is coming off of the Wilson Glacier into the (mostly melted by September) Nisqually Glacier.
