Shawn Swain on mandolin for the Kitchen Dwellers @ 2022 Northwest String Summit

This photo caught my eye because of Shawn’s tattoos on his right arm. I believe it’s the “correct” instruments for a standard bluegrass band (guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and bass). The Kitchen Dwellers are missing a fiddle, and don’t usually fit the traditional bluegrass sound. I love it when they get heavy and/or psychedelic. When they lean country I’m not much of a fan.

German stained glass

These stained glass windows are in Stiftskirche St. Arnual in Saarbrücken, Germany, a church with centuries-old historical significance. They were created between 1953 and 1957 by the artist György Lehoczky.
