2024 was the year in which Nosferatu seemed to appear wherever I was. I became a bit obsessed by the time the new year rolled around. More on this topic in a later post. Did you know that the reconstructed score for the 1922 film was performed by the Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra?

Unless you are an organist, you probably haven’t seen this view. I’m no organist, but on this day the organist was out on a smoke break or something when we wandered in. The stairs to the organ gallery were wide open, without any signs indicating that admittance was prohibited, so we headed up for the view. Shortly after we descended to explore the rest of the church the organist returned and played for the duration of our stay. It was a rather magical experience for it to just be us and the music.
