I’m not sure when the Korean season begins, but my Kia Tigers will be moving in to their new Champions Field. Today’s photo isn’t from Gwangju though. This is the home stadium of the Lotte Giants in Busan. One of the Giants hit this ball off the wall.

While riding my bike back from Kofu to the onsen I was staying at in Kai (Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan) I came upon these houses in the dark. The street was somewhat busy for that time of night as it is the main thoroughfare (yamanotedoori or 山の手通り). I took a long exposure and let the headlights of the passing motorists light the scene for me.

@OregonBaseball @krook_daddy This past Saturday evening I watched this freshman pitcher strike out 10 in just 5.1 innings. He only gave up one hit too. However, the Ducks couldn’t score. The next night they scored 20 runs. Go figure.

Sculptures like this serve as a meeting place when tens of thousands of people are trying to find each other on game day. Things seemed eerily quiet on this day as the team wasn’t playing. Around this location there were lots of bronzed player hands that kids could “shake” or at least compare to their own hands.
