Auschwitz

I decided to go to the movies yesterday. I like to be surprised at the movies so I tend to avoid any that I’ve seen a trailer for or have heard the plot in advance. Instead, I look at the IMDB ratings for the movies showing at my local theater and pick the one with the highest rating. Yesterday that turned out to be “The Zone of Interest”. Wow! What a powerful movie.

Along a similar note, I read Geddy Lee’s biography a couple of months ago.

“I clutch the wire fence

Wonderland Trail (Mt. Rainier National Park)

Something green for you on this St. Patrick’s Day. We were supposed to see lots of green on the day we did the above hike. Unfortunately, we were in the clouds the entire time–sometimes having difficulty seeing more than just a few feet in front of us.

I didn’t do the tour when I visited this place so I didn’t know until today that this was the last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinan, one of the more famous humans to have ever roamed the planet.
