Ploughs batterier is a fortification from early in the 1800s. The two canons and their wooden bases have been restored to the original period colors. They served to defend Faaborg from enemy ships during the war with England which lasted from 1801 to 1814. The canons are still used by a group who do reenactments on special occasions. Unfortunately, that wasn’t happening on the day I was there in July of 2024.
