If you are ever in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, don’t miss a day trip to Whitney Plantation. Although public transportation to the location doesn’t exist, there are tour companies that will take you there or you can rent a car through Turo for a day for under $80.

I’ve seen alligators in zoos before, but this was the first one in my 56+ years that I’ve encountered in the wild. It’s a very different sensation. This one may have been about 10 feet in length.

Flying into Salt Lake City from the south

We made it home last night (or should I say this morning?). Delta Airlines thought it would be a good idea to add about 3 hours of travel time to our trip each way. Otherwise, it was a great trip to New Orleans.
