Last week the mountains around Ashland were dusted with snow. Some funky clouds rolled in, and then some blue sky poked through. I decided to head up to the roof to see how much of the detail I could capture.
I had my Nikkor 70-300mm lens on my Nikon D600. At 70mm I turned the camera vertical, and took a series of 8 photos at 1/800, f/10, ISO-200. I then photomerged them together for the above result. If you have a big screen, click on the image once or twice for the larger view. You can see lots of detail and landmarks on the biggest version including (from the left) Mountain Meadows, Grizzly Peak, and Pompadour Bluff.
This is the 25th year a Lights For Life tree has adorned the space in the road across from the library where Siskiyou Boulevard splits into East Main Street and Lithia Way.
Last night (December 14, 2012) was the previously mentioned show featuring Lamb of God, In Flames, Hellyeah, and Sylosis at the Medford Armory.

SOU’s Bubba Owens about to hit the mat courtesy of Menlo College’s Justin Harrison. Bubba did win this heavyweight match in a rather dominating manner.
The Southern Oregon University wrestling team will be hosting MSU-Northern tomorrow night beginning at 7 p.m. in Ashland.
Today’s photos are from an SOU victory a couple weeks ago against Menlo College.
From November to the end of February every year you can ice skate in Lithia Park at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink.
