While wandering around Amsterdam I found myself looking for a restroom in the Magna Plaza, a shopping mall of sorts. Finding a restroom wasn’t as easy as a mall in the USA, but the Magna Plaza was far more visually interesting than the vast majority of shopping centers in the USA so I didn’t mind. If you look closely you can see a store called “America Today”. I found it a bit ironic that you’d find a store wanting to show of its “Americaness” in a shopping center so much nicer than those in America.
6 minutes ago at 6 a.m. on 6/6 Death Angel re-released The Ultra-Violence, a CD which has been out of print for more than a decade (and sells for over $50 used). I purchased my copy 25 years ago so I don’t need another. The Ultra-Violence is still my favorite Death Angel release (and probably always will be), but all six of their studio albums are excellent.
Death Angel will be playing The Ultra-Violence, in its entirety, on tour this summer. Unfortunately, they aren’t coming anywhere near me.
When I took today’s photo, back in July 2011 in Sweden, Mille announced to the crowd (in English) that Kreator was about to begin recording their next album in Sweden. Sure enough, they did, and today it will be released in Europe. Those in the USA will have to wait a few more days to obtain a copy of Kreator’s new CD.
Today’s photo was taken in basically the same spot as this prior pic. The main difference is I was looking in a different direction. That’s a lot of action for 11 p.m.
Happy 75th birthday to the Golden Gate Bridge (金門橋) earlier this week. I went over this bridge at least a hundred times with Japanese tourists back in the early 1990s when I was tour guiding in San Francisco. Those were some good times…
