I’ve never been to the real 平等院 near Kyoto (although I’ve had the postcard photo of the famous temple since 1988) so catching the 50-year old replica in Hawaii a couple days ago was pretty cool.

Next week we are off to Oahu. While you can find Marugame Udon shops all over Japan, you have to go to Hawaii to eat such noodles in the USA. Can’t wait!
