I previously mentioned how getting up early is the only way to avoid crowds in parts of Prague. Another advantage is good light.
After taking this photo (before 7 a.m.) I headed back to my Airbnb for a morning nap. I didn’t miss any outdoor exploring as the rain fell rather hard and furious for a few hours.
The over 600-year old Charles Bridge will undergo repairs beginning in late 2019. They say the repair work won’t affect the view, but you never know. Repairs won’t be completed until after my lifetime is over (in the 2040s).

Located near the graves of Niels Bohr and Hans Christian Andersen in Assistens Kirkegård, Mikkeller’s Ramen to Bíiru is one of several ramen choices in Copenhagen these days. I prefer Papa Ramen and Slurp Ramen Joint, but if you want something spicier or want to try them all, check out らーめんとビール when you are in the neighborhood of one of their two shops (Norrebro or Vesterbro).
In other news, I have my place lined up for this summer. I like to stay in a different place each year. This year I’m back in the center of Copenhagen, in a place between Rosenborg Castle and the Marble Church.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day
A little (OK, a lot of) green for you today.
This photo is from our trip to Oahu this past December. I took this photo on the Maunawili Falls Trail. Not to discourage you from taking this trail, but this was the worst hike I’ve ever been on. The trail is mostly deep, sticky mud and tree roots. I was sick, though, and that was the main reason I hated it. My body ached from head to toe with every step. Another downside, once you get to the (unspectacular) waterfall, you will find loads of people there.
