Lithia Park’s main trail, along Ashland Creek, is well trafficked. The east side trails, heading up to Glenview and Ridge, are not. In fact, you can frequently walk them for hours without encountering another human.

Caught this bear last night. You can’t really tell from the photo because there is nothing to compare it to, but I think this is the largest bear I’ve seen in Ashland (and I’ve seen about a dozen).

What looks like a fox and is called a wolf but isn’t either of those creatures? That would be the maned wolf, a species you probably haven’t seen before unless you are from parts of South America.
