Old Town Square (Præstø, Denmark)
For a town of its size, Præstø had a large number of stores. Torvet street looked like it has seen its share of pop-up markets over the centuries. However, on this Saturday in July (when one would think there would be a lot of activity), the place was dead. Few of the stores were even open, and there was no outdoor market happening. I didn’t complain.

One of the happy surprises I encountered while traveling this past summer was my Airbnb outside the downtown area of Præstø, Denmark. I stayed in an old farmhouse. Out back there were lots of animals–some wild. This one wasn’t wild but full of personality instead.
Alien Force @ 2021 Metal Magic Festival
Will I make it to next year’s Metal Magic Festival? I don’t know yet, but if I do I’ll get to see Alien Force for the fourth time in my life (all in Denmark)–not bad considering the fact that Alien force has only played a couple dozen gigs ever and only a handful of those outside of Denmark.

Yoga on the Ribe Kunstmuseum grass (July 2024)
Once upon a time, a smaller tower was on the northwest corner of Ribe Cathedral. However, in 1283, it collapsed killing many on their way to church. “Commoner’s Tower” (the flat tower on the right) was finished in 1333 with a spire that collapsed in 1594, never to be replaced. That turned out to be useful 50 years later because now there was space for eight cannons! The cannons fired at Swedish ships in 1644.
