Pacific Grove

I have been going to the Monterey / Pacific Grove / Pebble Beach / Carmel area of California since the time I was born. I did tours there in the early 1990s. I haven’t been there much in the past 15 years, maybe only three or four times. However, the beauty of the place is always shocking to me.

This past Thursday morning’s visit provided a different experience as there was no one there. We could park wherever we wanted and stroll without any crowds. This made things even better.

Albert Pujols shadow

Shadow Dancing

I made my second visit, and first in over three years, to Angel Stadium of Anaheim this past Monday night when the Yankees were in town. Today’s photo is of an RBI double by Albert Pujols in the first inning. Pujols was the MLB American League Player of the Month for June 2015 when he hit .303 with 13 home runs, 26 RBIs, 23 runs scored, and had a .395 on-base percentage.

Didi Gregorius of the New York Yankees is shadow dancing with Albert here.

Little Boulder Lake

Girl at the lake

We were in California for a couple days, returning last night to Oregon. Today’s photo comes from a hike we did on our way to Sacramento in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. After this lake we also visited Boulder Lake which is less than a mile away.

Sand Harbor between storms

8 photo photomerge lake tahoe between storms sand harbor

8-photo photomerge of Lake Tahoe‘s Sand Harbor

No life guard on duty on this day. No one was going in the water for a few reasons. One reason was that no one was there! Another was that even though this photo looks warm and sunny, it was actually below freezing with the wind chill factor. That’s snow on the mountains surrounding the lake.

I imagine Sand Harbor looks very different in August, not nearly as pretty and very crowded.
