This night, at 2018 Roskilde Festival, was one of the best of my life. I love Dark Tranquillity (who I have now seen in three different countries!). They were fabulous, as was Clutch before them and Nine Inch Nails after them.
I met a guy during their set who said something about knowing the band, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, during NIN the same guy appeared with Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity to introduce him to me. I probably said a bunch of stupid stuff at this point (it being long after midnight). After every song I turned around to see Mikael still standing there with a smile on his face during the NIN set. I may have hugged him a dozen times and told him that I loved him. Nobody really knows what happened at this point. It was a lovely evening.

2017 Berlin Gay Pride Parade
One year ago today I found myself in the thick of Berlin’s gay pride parade on Christopher Street Day. I didn’t intend to go to Berlin for a gay pride festival; nor did I intend my AirBNB to be in the center of the gay quarter of Berlin. However, it ended up being a fun neighborhood and memorable experience.
This year’s CSD falls on July 28. I suppose it’s always on a Saturday near the end of July.

No Prague for me this year, but tonight I’m heading to Budapest for the first time.
This photo was taken from the Petrin Hill Observation Tower. It was a hot day and there were lots of steps, but the climb was worth the view.
