Ghost B.C. at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California
Ghost, from Sweden, recently had a name change to Ghost B.C., and they released a groovy new video from their forthcoming CD. When I watch it I think of American Bandstand in the 1970s, complete with lip-synching. As I’ve said before, these guys have a sense of humor.
Testament’s Chuck Billy
Testament kicked off their headlining tour (Dark Roots of Thrash Tour) last night in San Francisco. Also on the bill are Overkill, Flotsam and Jetsam, and 4ARM. Testament will wrap up the U.S. portion of the tour in Sacramento at the Ace of Spades, where I took today’s photo last year, on February 28.
Zepparella in Eugene, Oregon @ McDonald Theatre
If you are in or near Tahoe/Reno or San Francisco or if you are traveling to one of these places this weekend, then you will want to check out Zepparella, the all-female Led Zeppelin cover band. Friday night they are playing at the Crystal Bay Casino and Saturday night they return home to play at Slim’s in SF. As an added bonus Clementine’s band “Stars Turn Me On” and “The Gretchen Menn Band” are opening both nights. You can’t see Clementine (the drummer) in the above photo, but Gretchen is the guitarist on the right.
Peeking through the curtains on the side are a couple of the members of Hell’s Belles who were also playing on the evening I took this pic. The next shows for Hell’s Belles will be in Oregon (Corvallis @ The Majestic Theatre on 2/15 and Bend @ The Old Mill on 2/16).

Troy Sanders and Bill Kelliher of Mastodon
My random, desktop image of the day (above) reminded me that the Monsters University movie (coming out in less than five months) should be great, if for no other reason than the fact that Mastodon recorded one of the songs for it.

Today’s photo comes from the Zepparella and Hell’s Belles show this past weekend in Eugene. I’ll be posting more photos of Zepparella here.
