We just got back from two nights at our friends’ ranch. We were planning on staying three nights, but winter storm warnings for tomorrow caused us to leave a day early.
I got up before the sun this morning to take some photos. The temperature outside was a balmy 15 degrees Fahrenheit. The ponds on the property were all frozen over. The kids went ice skating later in the day.
The white dot under the moon in this photo is Jupiter. The sun made its appearance about 15 minutes later.

A couple weeks ago I posted a photo of the moon setting in the early hours over the Wild and Scenic portion of the Rogue River. Today’s photo is from two night’s prior when the moon wasn’t quite full. Also, I used a long exposure which meant no details on the moon like that prior photo.
