Curry House CoCo Ichibanya’s katsu curry

Even though we had a CoCo Ichi near us when we lived in Tokyo in 2009 and 2010, I never tried the place until I went back in 2013 (pictured above).

I love katsu (カツ). I love curry (カレー). Someone put them together once upon a time as katsu curry.

Someone thought that adding meatloaf (ミートローフ) and cheese (チーズ) to this combination would also be a good idea (below). I passed on that concept.

Birds attack the Daytona Hilton

A week ago today, this happened.

No, it wasn’t an Alfred Hitchcock remake, although it felt like it.

I walked into my room in the Daytona Beach Hilton to see dozens of seagulls apparently attacking my window. Curious, but a bit afraid, I entered my balcony carefully so as to make sure no birds entered my room. As I peered over the edge a piece of airborne bagel nearly greeted me from below. The bagel was within six inches of my nose when a bird snatched it out of the air.

How did the bagel get there? This guy.
