Should you ever stumble upon the above sign, be sure to look around as you will find yourself in one of the most spectacular natural scenes in the world.
Strangely, I was the only person there. Given the heat (humid and over 100 degrees), I wasn’t too surprised. I’m guessing this location is rather crowded on a weekend in spring or fall.
There is a picnic table next to the Arakawa River at this spot. Bring a bento, and enjoy the view.
My random, desktop image of the day is this one. This coastline is somewhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This was one of those frustrating, backtracking flights. I started out in Medford, flew south to L.A., and then flew from L.A. to Tokyo. The Los Angeles to Narita leg covered much of the same ground, in reverse, from my first flight. I flew over San Francisco in my first flight and my second (shortly after this photo was taken).
If you click on the photo you can see the coast up close. Anyone know, specifically, where this little stretch of houses between the road and ocean is?
