Harry Bridges Plaza, San Francisco Ferry Terminal, and Bay Bridge from the Hyatt Regency San Francisco

We drove down I-5 to San Francisco for Thanksgiving today. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at Perry’s on the Embarcadero. We had some time to kill before our reservation so we headed to the Hyatt Regency for this view.

View from Nob Hill in San Francisco

Lots of images of San Francisco on the TV the past couple nights thanks to the Giants making it into the 2012 World Series. Today’s photo is from my trip to the “City by the Bay” back in April. Even though I love San Francisco, I have never been able to like the Giants. Even when I was a kid, going to games at Candlestick Park, I found myself cheering for the Cardinals, Expos, Phillies, Mets, or whoever it was the Giants were playing. Go Tigers!

San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge

Happy 75th birthday to the Golden Gate Bridge (金門橋) earlier this week. I went over this bridge at least a hundred times with Japanese tourists back in the early 1990s when I was tour guiding in San Francisco. Those were some good times…

King Street – San Francisco

San Francisco panorama from AT&T Park

This 180 degree panorama is a photomerge from a series of 6 ultra wide angle images I took while looking over the edge from the top of AT&T Park. The street heading off to the left and to the right is really the same, straight street with no curve in the road. The distortion is due to the photomerge and the close distance I was to the street. You can’t see this view in real life without turning your head from side to side.

To the far left is the Pacific Ocean and to the far right is the San Francisco Bay. You can see a bit of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to the right, especially if you click on the image to make it bigger.

Roger Waters – The Wall – AT&T Park – San Francisco

I took today’s photo a few minutes before Roger Waters hit the stage and built The Wall that was to hide the band from the tens of thousands in the audience at AT&T Park in San Francisco this past Friday night. What a lovely evening it was! There was a cruise ship and some sort of Navy boat in McCovey Cove (beyond the right field wall). You could also buy a beer out of the Giants’ dugout.
