Oldest continuous ballpark in the nation

Even older than Fenway Park (1912) and Wrigley Field (1914), baseball has been played at the site of Goss Stadium (which has seen many improvements over the years) since 1907. It only took me 110 years to see my first game there this past weekend. The game (against Washington State) was sold out so we had to procure tickets from a scalper outside the stadium (for about half of what tickets were going for on Stubhub but still more than double the face value).
The #1-ranked Beavers won, as usual. OSU will be hosting the Regionals next weekend. If all goes well, they will be hosting the Super Regionals the following weekend and heading to Omaha for the College World Series later in June.
Softball under the rainbow
Last night there was a rather spectacular storm in Southern Oregon. I didn’t have my camera with me so I had to settle for this short video with my phone. We had our first softball practice of the year. With the rainbow and lightning striking all over the place, it was awesome.

It’s been a while since I’ve made it out for live music. With Club 66 and Musichead both out of business, rare visits to Britt or the Ashland Armory are all that I seem to get to these days in the Rogue Valley. I swore off Johnny B’s a few years ago, but I made a rare exception a couple weeks ago when Cambrian Explosion and 100 Watt Mind were playing. Both bands were great.
