There’s a war going on in my head about what I should do during my last weekend in Copenhagen this summer.
Should I fly across the Øresund and go to the Gefle Metal Festival (pictured above during the 2017 Krisiun set) to see Primordial, Dark Tranquillity, Dimmu Borgir, Ministry, Flotsam & Jetsam, and Satyricon? I’ve seen all of these bands before (except Primordial but I will be seeing them in the Czech Republic this summer), and I’ve been to Gävle, Sweden twice, but I love them all and would love to see them all again.
Or should I fly across the North Sea to see two of my top five favorite bands–Neurosis and YOB–in London? I’ve only been to London once, but I’ve seen Neurosis and YOB many times.
The deciding factor could be who grants me a photo pass…

Today’s photo was taken a few months before Warrel died. Sanctuary has continued to tour since his death. I hear a new album is in the works, although it may be 2020 before it hits the shelves.
There are also rumors that Sanctuary will be touring with a setlist that includes all of Refuge Denied. That will be awesome.
