One of the funnest performances I had the pleasure of witnessing in 2016 was Iron Angel from Germany. I wasn’t that familiar with them before the show but have enjoyed their music since. It always brings a smile to my face after having seen them live. As far as I know, they’ve never played in the USA.

Today’s photo was taken at 2:30 a.m. The sun was coming up before I left the venue. Hopefully they don’t give Neurosis or Red Fang a post-midnight start in 2017.

Old Town Square

Prague

The statue on the left is the Jan Hus Memorial, and the medieval steeples on the right belong to the Church of Our Lady before Týn. If I make it back to Prague in 2017 I will have a different game plan to deal with the crowds.

Bombers @ Copenhell

Abbath as Lemmy

Motorhead tribute band Bombers (Bergen) closed out the 2016 edition of Copenhell. They came on after Black Sabbath, starting at about 1 a.m. With Lemmy being gone for less than six months when this show happened, much of the Copenhell crowd remained for the set.

Abbath did a fine Lemmy but didn’t forget to toss in some Abbath moves as well.

Yachats rainbow

Rainbow near Yachats

I just got back from a couple nights in Yachats, Oregon. The weather forecast was not good, but the weather wasn’t always that bad. We were able to take a 3-hour hike to Cape Perpetua Lookout yesterday without getting wet, and today we had a brief break for this rainbow.
