I took in what (I think) was my 14th lake in the southern Klamath Mountains over the past 15-20 years (with the others being Castle Lake, Heart Lake, Caldwell Lake, South Fork Lake, Smith Lake, Big Bear Lake, Trail Gulch Lake, Boulder Lake, Little Boulder Lake, Upper Ruffey Lake, Lower Ruffey Lake, Upper Deadfall Lake, and Lower Deadfall Lake).

August 12 was the hottest day of the year in Japan in 2013. I did this hike in temperatures that were over 40 degrees Celsius (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and quite humid. Since then, things have only gotten hotter.

A stone’s throw from the Airbnb I was staying in, I think I took today’s photo as soon as I arrived in the Czech Republic so that I wouldn’t forget to visit later in the evening. Virtually all subsequent evenings in Prague, over multiple years, ended here.
