The Dalles Bridge (January 2016)
Ellie and I were on our way back to Southern Oregon from a recruiting visit at Whitman College when today’s photo was taken. She didn’t end up going there, so this is from the last time we were in Walla Walla.
2026 is her 10-year high school reunion year and my 40th. Yikes!

I could find only two photos on the internet of this boat in operation–both appeared to be from the 1960s or early 1970s. Maybe this beauty had been dry docked for 50 years when I took the photo almost five years ago. Actually the wood and paint are much newer than that so maybe it had been repurposed in the fairly recent past. I don’t think the ponds/lagoon had water for about a decade until new owners took over in 2023. I haven’t been back to see the improvements.
